Question: Can you tell me more about Ultimate Horizon Insights?

Certainly, here's some general background information:

Utlimate Horizon Insights focuses on the Transcendental aspect of spirituality. When we think of spirituality we generally refer to one or any of its four aspects which we have identified as:

We do well to approach Transcendental Spirituality in the context of the other aspects of spirituality so that we remain balanced and fully capable of active participation and enjoyment of life. With that stated, I will say more about the focus of UHI -- Transcendental Being.

In the history of spirituality Transcendental Being has been keenly dwelt with by the Upanishads of ancient India. References to Transcendental Being are also found in the spiritual teachings of other times and places, for example, the Full Void in Buddhist traditions, and Ain Soph in the Kabalah. And certaintly others.

UHI is a new contemporary expression of such teachings seeking to elucidate Transcendental Being, thus rendering IT accessible to our recognition (Self-Realization). A more descriptive term than Transcendental Being is Consciousness-Without-An-Object, a term coined by mystic, and author Franklin Merrell-Wolff. Prospective students of UHI are encouraged to read Wolff's book "Pathways Through To Space" which may or may not be in print at this time (There have been reprintings since the original printing in the 1970s.).

Transcendental Conciousness understood as Consciousness-Without-An-Object is objectless awareness. This is entirely distinct from the object-consciousness most humans are familiar with which always involves awareness of ever-changing gross objects, i.e. peceived by the physical sensorium, or awareness of subtle objects such as thoughts, feelings, or visions of various kinds. One's life is one massive multidimenional object of great intricacy, depth, and texture.

Many students of spirituality meditate to clear their minds of all thought. What many do not realize is that this is impossible. The best they can hope for is a calming or slowing down of the mind's racing and fickleness, but never absolute quiecense. And that is because the nature of mind in perpetual motion and change. If we seeking absolute quiescence or Peace, then we need to seek it elsewhere -- not in the mind. Transcendental Being, Quiescence, Peace, Nirvana, Samadhi or whatever other term we want to use is discovered. It through an act of Discovery, Recognition, or Realization that one embraces IT. One's Self-Realization is not created by the mind nor is it a condition or state of the mind.

UHI is a concise set of key points and exercises designed to inescapably bring one as much as possible to the ontological recognition of Transcendental Being. In style UHI is eductive (knowing drawn from within) and a modality of Jnana Yoga -- a path with utilizes the intellect as a stepping stone "to go beyond" to Transcendental Being.

Question: I can't easily attend a one-on-one UHI session in San Francisco. Do you have anything for people who live in other parts of the world?

I am planning a Home Study Course based on the UHI material. Although I cannot say exactly when it will be available, it's in the works. Stay tuned!

Question: What about OM Aphorisms? What are they?

OM Aphorisms, Release 1.3 consists of a series of stanzas or aphorisms that refer to the key points covered in greater personalized detail in the Ultimate Horizon Insights intensive. Each aphorism is consolidates in one brief succinct statement an entire realm of understanding. Using an analogy from the computer world, OM Aphorisms is analogous to a compressed archive .zip file! One unzips OM Aphorisms by studying and expanding the encapsulated implications contained in the aphorisms. If you have the patience to study OM Aphorisms in a concerted way, a whole understanding of this teaching will unfold for you. Question: Where can I find OM Aphorisms? OM Aphorisms can be found online. Click here.

Question: Who determines that you are in fact enlightened?

You do.

Then that depends on how you define "enlightenment". And that is tricky! "Enlightenment" can mean many things to various people and to oneself. What is the correct definition of enlightenment? I don't venture to to say. However, I use a working definition which is:

Enlightenment: The conscious recognition of one's Transcendental Nature.

So now what is one's Transcendental Nature?! Whether or not you have a sense of what "one's Transcendental Nature" is, there's a book which I recommend. That book is Pathways Through to Space -- A personal record of Transformation in Consciousness by Franklin Merrell-Wolff. It may be available through our Amazon Lux Book Recommendations bookstore.

Also for reading there's OM Aphorisms which I wrote and is available online here.

Understanding how the sense of "enlightenment" and "unenlightenment" arises is a key point. Your question is a good one.

Question: How much does it cost?

At this time I offer the Ultimate Horizon Insights consultation for a contribution of $250 or some other form of mutually acceptable contribution. This includes the consultation which occurs on a one-on-one basis over a four-to-eight hour period and one year follow-up as desired or needed.
